On May 9, 2009, Chris Sim and Len Miscannon, employees of Delaware County Community College’s grounds department, accepted the Tree Commission’s Stewardship Award for a 70-year-old Weeping Norway Spruce tree (Picea abies) located on the grounds of the college near the spot where the Stull mansion once stood. Mr. Sim is credited with saving the tree when the mansion was torn down. He placed a fence around the tree to keep bulldozers from damaging the tree and its roots. This Weeping Norway Spruce, which has three arms, is 25’ tall and 15’ wide.
